Maxmur Camp doctors struggle because of the embargo

The Iraqi state medical center in Maxmur is not enough to cope with all needs. In the event of serious health problems and even for routine checks for chronic illnesses, the population used to rely on hospitals in Hewlêr (Erbil), sixty kilometers away.

Turkish soldiers attack graveyard and a mausoleum in Hasankeyf

The Turkish state systematically targets graveyards and tombs but this time destroyed a mausoleum and tombs in the village of Günesli in Hasankeyf. The Turkish flag was hung on the trees in the graveyard.

SOHR: Erdogan sent over 10,000 Syrian mercenaries to Tripoli

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that new batch of 500 Turkish-backed mercenaries has arrived in Libyan territory in order to join the military operations on the side of the “Government of National Accord” against the “Libyan National Army”.

Turkey starts fire and water war against Syrians

Turkey has reduced the rate of water flowing in the Euphrates River to Syria by 60% early this month, for the second time in 4 years. The river offered the lifeline for millions of Syrians in the Euphrates region in northern Syria, and other areas such as Al-Raqqa and Deir ez zor, as well as supplying the second largest city in the country, Aleppo, with drinking water.

Women’s organisations launch campaign for political prisoners

Free Women’s Movement (TJA), Kurdish Women’s Movement – Europe (TJK-E), International Women’s Alliance (IWA), Women Democratic Front Pakistan (WDF), Ruba odeh Palestine, Abya Yala Feminists, National Front for Egyptian Women, Moroccan Association for Progressive Women, Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan RAWA, Collective of Support for Women Prisoners in Aragon (CAMPA) launched a campaign called ‘Solidarity keeps us alive’ to demand the release of political prisoners during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

About us

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
