Human Rights Association (IHD) Amed Branch has published the report of rights violations in Northern Kurdistan in 2018. The IHD pointed out that the State of Emergency has helped a transformation in government which “gradually move away from the democratic rule of law introducing political control of the judiciary.

Kurdish Politician Mahmut Alinak was sentenced to 50 days in prison by the Kars Criminal Court of Peace for criticising the Imrali Prison system on February 14, 2018 and for requesting the Kars Municipality rename some streets with the names of Musa Anter, Deniz Gezmis, Vedat Aydin, Kemal Akbulut and Oruc Korkmaz.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
