20 organizations call for urgent UN action for Afrin

Urgent Appeal for the implementation of the UN calls for global ceasefire and the release of political prisoners

On 23 March 2020, UN Secretary-General António Guterres issued an appeal for a global ceasefire. On 25 March 2020, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet called for governments to reduce the number of people in detention and release every person detained without sufficient legal basis, including political prisoners and others detained for expressing critical or dissenting views. WHO is again excluding NE, Syria from medical aid

The World Health Organization (WHO) note seen by members of the UN Security Council said that aid organizations working with the United Nations want the Security Council to allow urgent use of al-Ya’rubiyah (Tel Koçer) crossing between the Iraqi and Syrian borders to deliver supplies to help in combating the coronavirus.

UN calls on governments to reduce the number of prisoners

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
