Two children who were most recently released from Sincan prison in Ankara have been arrested and sent to prison again. The two children had suffered abuses in Pozanti prison before being transferred to Sincan after it was exposed the harassment and violence the children were subjected to.

Minister of Justice: Four times increase in prison population since 2000

Figures released by Minister of Justice Ergin, the number of convicts and detainees in Turkish prisons as of April 2, 2012 have increased four times since 2000. There were 24.855 convicts and 24.657 detainees in 2000, however now there are 95.652 convicts and 36.408 detainees.

Women prisoners denounce ill treatment in Sakran Prison

Arbitrary procedures involving maltreatment continue to be carried out in Sakran prison which made the news with woman prisoners being dragged by hair during their transfer. It has been reported that woman prisoners are forced to clean rooms full of construction rubbish.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.
