IHD denounces worsening of ill women prisoners in Şakran jail

The Human Rights Association (IHD) Izmir branch Women’s Commission issued a statement to mark 25 November International Day of Struggle Against Violence Against Women, drawing attention to the situation of 11 women prisoners in Şakran Women’s Closed Prison.

Up to 25 years imprisonment sought for Leyla Güven

In the trial against Kurdish politician Leyla Güven, the public prosecutor’s office has requested a sentence of up to 25 years in prison for “founding and directing a terrorist organization”, although the main prosecution witness withdrew her statement.

453 women killed in Turkey over the last 10 months

Four hundred and fifty-three women were killed in Turkey in the first 10 months of the year, according to a report by the the Centre for Sociopolitical Field Studies. The report is prepared by collecting data from various websites, such as the We Will Stop Femicide Platform, Bianet, Jîn News, and the Mesopotamia News Agency.

Abolition of co-chairmanship is fight against struggling values in NE Syria

The administrations of al-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor cities said that abolishing the co-presidency system is a fight against struggling ideology and values in northern and eastern Syria. They noted: “We do not accept any project targeting our regions and system.”

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
