Since the beginning of 2020, the Autonomous Administration of North-East Syria has handed over 125 children and four women of non-Syrian nationalities to representatives of their countries.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) statistics and sources, all children and women are of the families of the Islamic State in the Hol (al-Hawl) camp in the far south-east of Heseke, whose fathers and spouses were fighters in the ranks of ISIS, who have either been killed in previous battles, or lost.
On 14 January, the Autonomous Administration Department of Foreign Relations handed over two children and a woman of Norwegian nationalities to representatives of their state at the Department’s headquarters in Qamishlo.
On January 22, the Department of Foreign Relations handed over two women and a child of Iraqi nationalities to the Kurdistan Regional Presidency Office.
On September 8, 15 children of Russian nationalities were handed over to a Russian delegation of the Office of the Russian Federation for the Rights of the Child at the department’s headquarters in Heseke.

On October 4, a child of Canadian nationality was handed over to the Canadian Special coordinator for Syria at the department’s headquarters in Heseke.
On October 14, 27 children of Russian nationalities were handed over to a Russian delegation from the Office of the Russian Federation for the Rights of the Child at the department’s headquarters in Heseke.
On October 25, three children and a woman of Albanian nationalities were handed over to the Albanian ambassador to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan.
On November 14, 30 children of Russian nationalities were handed over to a Russian delegation of the President of the Russian Federation for the Rights of the Child at the department’s headquarters in Heseke.
