HRW: No justice for Turkish mine disaster victims

One year after the biggest mining disaster in Turkey’s history, on May 13, 2014, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government is blocking the path to full justice for the victims and their families, said Emma Sinclair-Webb of the Human Rights Watch in a statement marking the first anniversary of the Soma mine disaster which left 301 workers dead.

5 youths from Rojava tortured by Turkish soldiers

Sarıyıldız: Is a Kurdish refugee’s life only worth 4 lira?

A Turkish court has decided to drop charges against a Turkish soldier who shot dead 28-year-old Saada Darwich from Rojava on the border. HDP Şırnak MP Faysal Sarıyıldız has raised the issue in the Turkish Parliament, asking Interior Minister Sebahattin Öztürk why the soldiers responsible were not even charged with causing death through negligence.

About us

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
