DFG: Over a hundred journalists still jailed despite pandemic in Turkey

The Dicle Fırat Journalists’ Association (DFG, Dicle Fırat Gazeteciler Derneği) draws attention in its March report on press freedom in Turkey to the difficult working conditions of media workers in the corona crisis. Their task of informing the public about current developments requires them to continue their work under all circumstances, but journalists are exposed to a high risk due to inadequate protective measures.

Woman murdered by husband in Ağrı

In the province Ağrı a woman has been murdered by her husband. The victim is G.L., a mother of three children, who lived in the village of Mendelix (Gözlüce) in the Hewaran (Hamur) district. The offender L.L. fired three shots at her. The woman could not be rescued despite efforts by the ambulance service and emergency doctor.

Gökkan: Violence against women increasing in Turkey

Violence against women who are forced to stay at home due to their coronavirus continues to increase. In the last 20 days, 18 women were murdered by men in Turkey, 12 of them at home. State officials are calling on people to “stay at home” but have not taken any precaution against violence against women.

IHD reiterates that ill prisoners must be released immediately

Turkey: 29 women killed by men in March

KRC: Turkish Government cut water supplies A violation of IHL who can be fatal of thousands of people.

On Saturday, Turkish Government cut the flow from a reservoir that supplies water to areas in northeastern Syria’s Hasakah province that the Kurdish-led local authorities control. The Alouk Water Station is located near the border town of Serekaniye, which Turkey and its militant proxies took control of in October 2019 during Turkey’s so called “Peace Spring Operation”.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
