IHD Calls on the International Community

On 19 August 2019, the Ministry of Interior has released a statement early in the morning saying that Diyarbakır, Mardin and Van municipality mayors from HDP [Peoples’ Democratic Party] were removed from office and they were replaced by the governors of the same cities.

HRW dénonce la violation des droits des électeurs par le gouvernement turc

« La révocation par le ministère turc de l’Intérieur de trois maires élus démocratiquement dans les principales municipalités des régions du sud-est et de l’est du Kurdistan viole de manière flagrante les droits des électeurs et suspend la démocratie locale », a déclaré aujourd’hui Human Rights Watch (HRW) dans un communiqué publié sur son site internet.

Report on women and state commissioner in local governments

After 40 years of war, in spite of the intense efforts by Kurdish popular leader Mr. Öcalan to achieve a lasting peace through democratic negotiation methods, AKP government declared war on 30 October 2014, with the scope of their plan called “forced collapse.” Against this war, the local people went on to struggle to protect their existence. In this period, many cities and villages –including Şırnak, Cizre, Silopi, Sur, Nusaybin, Yüksekova and İdil– were destroyed by heavy artillery and an estimation of 2360 people, including 368 unarmed residents lost their lives. Over 400,000 people have been displaced during the process.

Le proteste contro la destituzione del sindaco HDP di Amed continuano nonostante divieti e violenze. La gente si rifiuta di lasciare le strade e piazze.Ieri il regime AKP/MHP ha messo sotto amministrazione forzata i municipi di Amed, Mêrdîn eVan e destituito i sindaci eletti, In parallelo sono state arrestate quasi 500 persone.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
