Male Violence Monitoring Report for 2020…: According to “Male Violence Monitoring Report” of Bianet which was published on November 24, 2020, at least 253 women were killed by men between January 1 – November 21, 2020. In the first 21 days of November 20202, at least 24 women were killed by men, at least 45 women were subjected to violence.

IHD: Freedom of assembly under attack as women demonstrate for their rights

A report from the Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders (FIDH-OMCT) and İnsan Hakları Derneği (IHD, Human Rights Association, a member of FIDH and of OMCT’s SOS-Torture network) documents the restrictions affecting the right to freedom of assembly in Turkey, including for women’s rights defenders.

We Will Stop Femicide Platform: 246 women killed since January 2020

The male policies of the government led to violence and murder of many women this year in Turkey. According to the statistics of We Will Stop Femicide Platform, at least 246 women were murdered between January and October this year. Many women’s deaths were found suspicious.

IHD denounces worsening of ill women prisoners in Şakran jail

The Human Rights Association (IHD) Izmir branch Women’s Commission issued a statement to mark 25 November International Day of Struggle Against Violence Against Women, drawing attention to the situation of 11 women prisoners in Şakran Women’s Closed Prison.

KHRA: Iranian forces kill two more kolbars

Iranian pasdaran fired against a group of kolbars (cross-borders workers carrying goods on their shoulder) who were carrying their goods along the border line. Two kolbars lost their lives.

Journalist Akman: We were beaten and kicked around the floor

Kurdish journalist Nuri Akman, who successfully defended himself against deportation to Turkey together with three political activists in Bucharest airport on Wednesday, has made serious allegations against the Romanian authorities. After successfully resisting deportation to Turkey in Bucharest, he was eventually released.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
