UN Conville: 92 civilians died since Turkey attack in NE Syria

UN Human Rights Commissioner Spokesman, Rupert Colville, said that “since a Turkish-led offensive across Syria’s northern border a month ago to push out Kurdish YPG fighters, at least 92 civilians have been killed.”

Call for an investigation into Turkish use of prohibited weapons

The Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria held a press conference regarding the use of internationally prohibited weapons by the Turkish state in its military offensive launched against the region on October 9. The press conference was attended by Abdulkerim Omer, co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department, and Ciwan Mustafa, co-chair of the Health Committee.

Within the military operation of Turkish Armed Forces to north and east Syria; Ministry of National Defence made a declaration on October 31, 2019 and announced that 1 soldier died (İsmail Sarıcan) and 6 soldiers got wounded due to an explosion.

I came as a medical volunteer from Sweden to help treat those affected by war in Rojava. On October 13th 2019 I joined the medical staff in the main hospital of the Syrian city of Heseke to help the injured and be in close contact with patients. In my time there I have met many patients with severe burns which I would consider abnormal based on my experiences as founder and as the responsible of Hospital Acquired Infection control committee (HAI CC) at the university hospital of Shiraz, Southern Iran. My experiences go back to the first half of the Iran-Iraq war (1980s), including working in the burn’s unit.

‘They tortured us saying that there is a batting order’

Mahmut Polat (59), stated that the police who raided his home due to his social media shares, tortured his 2 children and took a medical on their behalf without being examined. Polat said that the police told them there is a batting order, and said: “The government ordered us to shoot if we must, we can kill you here.”

Ex-U.N.investigator: Erdogan should be charged with war crimes
