Trustee appointed at Cizre Municipality

A trustee was appointed at another HDP Municipality, Cizre. Co-Mayor Mehmet Zırığ confirmed the appointment of the trustee.

A trustee was appointed to Cizre Municipality which HDP won the March 31 elections. According to information obtained, in the early hours of the morning, the police officers went to the residence of Cizre Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Zırığ to give notice a trustee was appointed to replace him. With the appointment of the trustee, all roads leading to the Municipal Service Building were blocked by police barricades.

HDP Muş Provincial Co-chair Murat Balkaya and HDP Youth Assembly member Nafiye Bal were arrested on 26th of october.

People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Provincial Co-chair Murat Balkaya and HDP Muş Youth Assembly member Nafiye Bal who were taken into custody in a police raid to their homeswere arrested with the accusation of ‘propagandizing an illegal organization’.  Balkaya and Bal were taken to Muş Type E Closed Prison.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
