IHD and TIHV condemn the attack on Saturday Mothers

The Human Rights Association (IHD) and the Turkey Human Rights Foundation (TIHV) have released a statement condemning the police attack on the Saturday Mothers.

“We are in shame and confusion… – said the statement – An 82-year-old mother who has been participating in the sit-in in Galatasaray for 23 years to ask for the fate of those who have been forcibly disappeared while in custody, has been taken into custody together with another score of people”.

The statement added: “We are embarrassed because the police tried to arrest Emine Ocak. We value liberty, equality, justice and peace based on human dignity”.

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
