Le paratie della diga di Ilisu sono state chiuse dalle autorità della Direzione G dell’Ente Idrico Statale (DSI) il 18 luglio e il bacino del lago artificiale da allora viene riempito di acqua. Il governatore di Batman ha annunciato che l’antica città di Hasankeyf, che presto sarà sommersa a causa della diga di Ilisu, verrà transennata e chiusa al traffico dall’8 ottobre.

Jailed 62-year-old Peace Mother Mevlüde Başdaş (who has a 86% disability) was suspected of suffering from tuberculosis as she was vomiting blood and was taken to hospital from Şakran Women’s Prison. Yet doctors sent Başdaş back to prison saying there was no space in the hospital.
