Prisoner Executed, Civil Rights Activists arrested in Iran

A prisoner executed and another one at the risk of execution in the coming Days. Two civil rights activists taken to prison and a Kolbar shot dead by Iranian border guards this week in Iran.

KHRN: Political prisoner sentenced to death and 13 years in prison

Hamed Ghara Oghlani, a political prisoner from Orumiyeh, was sentenced to death and 13 years and 3 months in prison by branches 2 and 3 of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Orumiyeh on charges of “Baqi” through membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, “insulting the leadership” and “relations with Israel and the United States”.

Prisoner Çetin gets no treatment for cancer

Democratic Local Authorities Board member and Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA) activist Sevil Rojbin Çetin was taken to Mardin prison after being tortured by police using dogs for three hours during the political genocide operation carried out in her home on June 27 in Amed.   Prisoner Rojbin Çetin, who is suffering from cancer, is not being treated.

20 months of uncertainty in prison for a Civilian

Taher Rafat, a civilian of Orumiyeh, who was arrested by security forces in April of last year, is still being held indecisively in dormitory 1-2 of Orumiyeh Central Prison.

Türkdoğan: Imralı Prison must be closed

Commenting on the implementation of a systematic isolation on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Human Rights Association (IHD) co-chair Öztürk Türkdoğan said that a democratization in Turkey will not be possible as long as the war policies and isolation remain. Türkdoğan stated that the isolation imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan is unlawful and “Imralı Prison must be closed”.

IHD denounces worsening of ill women prisoners in Şakran jail

The Human Rights Association (IHD) Izmir branch Women’s Commission issued a statement to mark 25 November International Day of Struggle Against Violence Against Women, drawing attention to the situation of 11 women prisoners in Şakran Women’s Closed Prison.

51 political and religious prisoners transferred to the new High-Security Ward of the prison in Iran

On November 19, the Special Guards of Orumiyeh Central Prison entered the political prisoner’s ward and, after inspecting and confiscating a large number of the prisoners’ personal belongings, transferred all 51 political and religious prisoners to a new security ward called Dormitory 10 (Hedayat).

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
