Afrin region’s jurists asserted that the Turkish state does not take into consideration the legal principles against the detainees, and that it “tries to lay false accusations against anyone who obstructs its dirty policy in order to hide its criminal arena from view.”

FIDH: Authorities are responsible for Ebru Timtik’s death in custody

The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders (FIDH-OMCT) is shocked and deeply saddened by the death of human rights lawyer Ebru Timtik yesterday, after 238 days of hunger strike while in custody. The Observatory, which is holding the Turkish authorities responsible for her death, calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all human rights defenders arbitrarily detained in the country, including lawyer Aytaç Ünsal, who has been on hunger strike for over six months and whose health has sharply deteriorated.

Holding Muharram Mourning Ceremonies at Prison Despite Doctor’s Warnings

Despite the widespread outbreak of the coronavirus in the women’s ward of Orumiyeh Central Prison and the transfer of several prisoners with the virus symptoms to the hospital, a mass mourning ceremony is being held in this prison daily by order of prison officials.

Haşim Gezer and Garibe Gezer are brother and sister. They are in Elazığ Prison and Kayseri Women’s Prison and both are ill. They told their sister about the violations of their rights. There is isolation in prison, but no medicines are given

The Kurdish Center for Human Rights was established in Geneva in 2000, according to the Suisse civil law. In response to the genocide, war crimes and human rights violations occurring across the Kurdish regions of Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria.

The KCHR, as a non-profit organization of social utility, was born from the need to  inform the European and Swiss people and the OHCHR on human rights violations against the Kurds via seminars and other dialogue platforms and to attend their meetings; to establish a dialogue with NGO’s, civil movements, associations, government and civil institutions..
