Emergency Aid Appeal for Rojava /North & East Syria !

Posted on October 21, 2019October 22, 2019 By admin

In clear violation of international law, and against a chorus of rising international condemnation, the Turkish state has attacked Rojava, North & East Syria, raising the possibility of genocide and setting the stage for the re-emergence of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization. (KRC Report , Open Letter to UN )

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan explained in his recent speech at the United Nations General Assembly that he intends to change the demography of the region, which would only be possible by committing ethnic cleansing of the region’s indigenous Kurdish population. Since the onset of the Turkish military onslaught on 9 October, over 200,000 civilians have fled their homes as Turkish soldiers and members of their jihadist proxy militias invade and the Turkish military uses air power and heavy weapons to indiscriminately attack border areas in Syria along a 75-mile front with Turkey.

The escalation of violence in the residential areas and targeting of the civilian homes, schools and hospitals endanger the lives of 5 million people living there. Reports and video footage of human rights violations including executions and the abuse of the corpses by invading forces are already a horrifying reality of this invasion. Earlier today, the Turkish Air Force army, intentionally or unintentionally, targeted a detention center holding ISIS terrorists, freeing hundreds of them. The resurgence of ISIS and intensification of the Syria refugee crisis are two of the many devastating consequences of the Turkish military invasion that will reach far beyond the region.

Now, the people of Rojava, who face a new campaign of ethnic cleansing and genocide, need your help and relief. Please send your donation via the following avenues to Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê (Kurdistan Red Crescent), who are active on the ground in Rojava /North & East Syria.
